Local justice areas
45Abolition of local justice areas
(1)
Local justice areas are abolished.
(2)
Accordingly, omit section 8 of the Courts Act 2003 (local justice areas).
(3)
The Lord Chancellor may, by regulations, make consequential or supplementary provision in relation to the abolition of local justice areas.
(4)
Regulations under this section may include provision amending, repealing or revoking provision made by or under an Act (whenever passed or made).
(5)
Regulations under this section that amend or repeal any provision made by an Act are subject to affirmative resolution procedure (see section 49(3)).
(6)
Any other regulations under this section are subject to negative resolution procedure (see section 49(4)).
