Section 99 (certain functions in relation to merger notices) is amended as follows.

In subsection (1), for “the period for considering any merger notice begins” substitute “
the initial period (within the meaning of section 34ZA) begins in relation to the merger notice
”.

In subsection (5), for “the period for considering any merger notice” substitute “
the initial period (within the meaning of section 34ZA) in relation to a merger notice
”.
