Explanatory note

Supplementary: validity of things done before coming into force of Order8.

(1)

This Order does not affect the validity of anything done (or having effect as if done) by or in relation to—

(a)

the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, or

(b)

the Secretary of State for International Development,

before the coming into force of this Order.

(2)

In paragraph (1) —

(a)

a reference to a Secretary of State includes a reference to the department or an officer of that Secretary of State, and

(b)

the reference to anything done by or in relation to the Secretary of State for International Development includes a reference to anything done pursuant to a delegation under section 3(3) of the Overseas Pensions Act 1973.
