“98AMeaning of “sixth form education” etc

In this Chapter, “sixth form education” means secondary education suitable to the requirements of pupils who are over compulsory school age.

References in this Chapter, in relation to a child who has been admitted to a school, to his entering the school’s sixth form are to his being transferred to a class at the school in which sixth form education is provided from a class in which such education is not so provided.”

In relation to a code for school admissions issued under section 84(1) of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 after the passing of this Act, the requirement to consult which is imposed by section 85(2) of that Act may be satisfied by consultation undertaken before the passing of this Act, even though the code takes account (to any extent) of any provision made by this Act.
