The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 27(4) of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 19841, section 199(2) of the Data Protection Act 20182 and section 139(1) and (2)(c) of the Data (Use and Access) Act 20253.
In accordance with section 182(2) of the Data Protection Act 2018, the Secretary of State has consulted the Commissioner4 and such other persons as the Secretary of State considers appropriate.
