Establishment
35His Majesty’s Inspectors of Education in Scotland
(1)
There are to be His Majesty’s Inspectors of Education in Scotland, appointed by His Majesty by Order in Council on the recommendation of the Scottish Ministers.
(2)
His Majesty may appoint such number of Inspectors as the Scottish Ministers determine.
(3)
An Inspector—
(a)
holds and vacates office at His Majesty’s pleasure,
(b)
otherwise holds office in accordance with such terms and conditions as the Scottish Ministers determine.
(4)
The validity of anything done by an Inspector is not affected by a defect in a person’s appointment as an Inspector.
(5)
A person who, immediately before the coming into force of this section, is one of His Majesty’s inspectors within the meaning of section 135(1) of the Education (Scotland) Act 1980 is taken to have been appointed under this section as one of His Majesty’s Inspectors of Education in Scotland.
