The Welsh Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 5(1)(a) of the Protection from Eviction Act 19771 and section 88(1) of, and paragraphs 1(2) and 13(1) of Schedule 29 to, the Coronavirus Act 20202.

1977 c. 43. The functions of the Secretary of State under section 5, so far as exercisable in relation to Wales, were transferred to the National Assembly for Wales by the National Assembly for Wales (Transfer of Functions) Order 1999, SI 1999/672. The functions of the National Assembly for Wales were transferred to the Welsh Ministers by virtue of paragraphs 30(1) and 30(2)(c) of Schedule 11 to the Government of Wales Act 2006 (c. 32).

2020 c. 7. The powers conferred by section 88(1) of, and paragraphs 1(2) and 13(1) of Schedule 29 to, the Coronavirus Act 2020 are exercisable by the “relevant national authority”. The Welsh Ministers are the relevant national authority in relation to Wales.
