Amendment to the Health Protection (Notification) Regulations 201012.

In regulation 4ZA (duty to notify Public Health England of certain matters) of the Health Protection (Notification) Regulations 201023, at the end insert—

“(3)

Where a specimen number has been assigned to a specimen on which an operator of a diagnostic laboratory is carrying out an operation of the description in paragraph 7(1)(f) of Schedule 2C to the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (England) Regulations 2020 (genomic sequencing), that operator must take reasonable steps to ascertain any specimen number previously assigned to that sample and must endeavour to use the same specimen number in its fulfilment of the obligation in paragraph (2)(d)(iii).”.
