Explanatory note

PART 1INTRODUCTION

Citation, commencement and extent1.

(1)

These Regulations may be cited as the Criminal Justice (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 and come into force on exit day.

(2)

Except as provided in paragraphs (3) to (6), these Regulations extend to the United Kingdom.

(3)

Subject to paragraph (5), any amendment or revocation made by these Regulations has the same extent within the United Kingdom as the provision to which it relates.

(4)

Subject to paragraph (6), any saving or transitional provision in these Regulations has the same extent within the United Kingdom as the provision to which it relates.

(5)

Regulation 29 extends to England and Wales and Northern Ireland.

(6)

Regulation 31 extends to England and Wales and Northern Ireland as it relates to regulation 29.
