Carer’s Allowance9.
(1)
This regulation applies where a person in receipt of carer’s allowance (“A”) is temporarily unable to care for the severely disabled person (“B”) in respect of whom the carer’s allowance is paid by reason of isolation due to, or infection or contamination with, coronavirus disease of either A or B.
(2)
Regulation 4(2) of the Social Security (Invalid Care Allowance) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1976 M1 is to be read as if the words starting with “and” at the end of sub-paragraph (a) to the end of sub-paragraph (b) were omitted.
(3)
In this regulation—
(a)
“carer’s allowance” means the allowance paid under section 70 of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992 M2; and
(b)
“severely disabled person” has the meaning given in section 70(2) M3 of that Act.
