Suspension of authorisation

(1)
Section 18 of the 1980 Act (suspension of practising certificates) is amended as follows.

In subsection (1A)—
(a)
in paragraph (a), for “the incorporated practice” substitute “an authorised legal business”
,
(b)
in paragraph (b)—
(i)
for “an incorporated practice” substitute “an authorised legal business”
,
(ii)
for “incorporated practice with another incorporated practice” substitute “authorised legal business with another authorised legal business”
,
(c)
“its authorisation is deemed to be withdrawn and, where the business is an incorporated practice, its recognition under section 34(1A) is deemed to be revoked.”.

In subsection (3A)—
(a)
in paragraph (a), for “incorporated practice” substitute “authorised legal business”
