CHAPTER 3SUPPLEMENTARY FUNCTIONS
Additional learning provision in particular kinds of school or other institution
52Children with additional learning needs in mainstream maintained schools
(1)
Where a child with additional learning needs is being educated in a mainstream maintained school in Wales, those concerned with making additional learning provision for the child must secure that the child engages in the activities of the school together with children who do not have additional learning needs.
(2)
The duty in subsection (1) applies only so far as is reasonably practicable and compatible with—
(a)
the child receiving the additional learning provision called for by his or her additional learning needs,
(b)
the provision of efficient education for the children with whom he or she will be educated, and
(c)
the efficient use of resources.
