Jerelle Dixon [2019] EWCA Crim 1431

The appellant pleaded guilty to possessing MDMA with intent to supply and sentenced to 3 years’ imprisonment. He was found in possession of 86 pills upon entry to a music festival and messages requesting drugs were seen on his mobile phone.

Held: the appropriate starting point was taken which was at the bottom of the range. It was not clear why the sentence was only reduced by 6 months as he was entitled to full credit for his plea. The sentence was quashed and substituted with one of 28 months.
